Outstanding Researcher Awards 2023-24
Seventeen winners were awarded in the 2023-24 Outstanding Researcher Awards Scheme, the annual awards for research excellence which aim to recognise, honour and reward exceptional work in research by HKU staff. Awardees were celebrated at a presentation ceremony in March 2025.

HKU Shines in 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject
In the 2025 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject, HKU has four subjects ranked top 10 globally, with Dentistry and Education in 2nd and 3rd place, and Linguistics and Geography ranking 9th and 10th. Locally, HKU leads in 33 out of 50 subjects, accounting for two-thirds of the 50 HKU subjects ranked.

HKU Receives MoE Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award
Professor Tatia Lee, Chair Professor of Psychological Science and Clinical Psychology and May Professor in Neuropsychology at HKU's Faculty of Social Sciences, has been honoured with the 9th Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) (2nd Prize) from the Ministry of Education (MoE).
