The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has achieved distinguished results in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject. HKU consistently upholds its position as a leading institution globally and locally, with notable success in various academic fields.
The subject of Education Studies has been ranked 6th worldwide, continuing its legacy of being the University’s highest-ranked subject. In addition to this international recognition, HKU continues to secure the premier position amongst all universities in Hong Kong with eight out of the 11 subjects ranking first locally. The subjects are Education Studies, Medical and Health, Social Sciences, Law, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Psychology and Arts & Humanities.
